The ICS is the professional body for shipping businesses. It polled its clients and found that 47 percent were unsure about what the requirements meant. 36 percent knew a little and 69 percent had received no information from their agencies.
Many business owners know that they “should” have a blog, but their desires end there. Good technical writers are in demand, and they may not always be available to provide you with a steady stream of work due to their busy schedules. The writer’s tight schedule means a need to check in with them frequently and ask for follow-ups and updates.

Technical writers may serve on teams that conduct usability studies to improve product design. Technical writers may research topics through visits to libraries and websites, discussions with technical specialists, and observation.
